Default more balencer shaft questions but for an h23...

I know this has been beaten to death, but I'm wondering if there might be any adverse effects on disableing the balencer shafts on an h23. Everyones talked about the h22 which has a forged crank. However the h23 is cast, isn't it? Is there any conceveable way for the crank to fail due to this mod?

ive talked to Benson's Machine about that in the past.both h22 and h23 cranks are forged peices. Now i have heard of people removing the balancer belt and just leaving the shafts in for the oil pressure. The engine would vibrate a little more of course, but engine damage wise im not really sure of yet,im in the slow process fo building another h22 block and this time im removing the shafts.

I have removed the shafts completely from my motor. No adverse effects here at all...but don't forget, my entire bottom end was balanced, etc. prior to removal.

If your going to remove your balencer shafts you need to balance the motor. and plug the oil holes to the shafts.
