i NEED to clear this up....?
okay,i have been hearing about the whole OBDl/OBDll incident where the OBDll changes your settings (when changed) back to factory setting, is this true? i heard it was a big rumor. i, personally, have never seen any proof of it resetting the stuff that you program onto your VAFC. i need to know becuase i am planning on getting a VAFC and tuning with a lambda tuner for $100 and i dont want that money to go out the window. BTW, i have a 01 lude (base) if that matters at all. thanks
well why dont you go to http://www.ntpog.org and get the write up for the OBDII workaround and do that...that way you wont have to worry about it..for maybe less than 10 bucks..maybe less you can get all the parts needed to do the workaround
all you do is cut a wire and hook in a switch.
I believe the 2001's are OBD-IIb correct? Just curious. If you go with the OBD-I you can remove alot more from your engine bay w/o getting CELs

okay, so noone knows if this is a rumor or not? cmon, some one has to have some kind of proof that the ODBll ressets the settings that you do. becuase the guy that is going to install it is doing the wideband tuning too. and he just keeps on saying that its just a rumor, and like i am korean and he is an elder to me, so we have to kinda like respect them so i cant ask him to do it anyways or anything. and no, i wont get anyone else to do it for me because he is doing it for a lil cheaper. please help!
all i know for a fact is the obd2 ecu's are very sensitive to changes in the engine...anywhere.Even if its from upgraded cams to installing a new header, your ecu will throw a code eventually. My suggestion is get a obd2 to obd1 conversion plug and get a obd1 ecu. Then you can do alot more stuff to the engine without it throwing a code.
