Depends on which ecu you are using.

More specifics? Car, ecu, which wiring harness you bought...

Here are some things that you need to know:
1. You can't use the 99-00 B16 ecu in a 96-98 civic without using a conversion harness.
2. You can only use a 96-98 civic wiring harness (Ex harness is what you need).

If you get an ex wiring harness, you won't have to worry about the crank fluxuation sensor seeing that it's already on the harness.

From what I get, you're trying to use an OBD1 engine harness. It's not possible, you need either use your dx harness and add a couple wires or find an ex and extend the ones you need to.

Throw it away or sell it. Get a wiring harness from a 96-98 Ex Civic.

im using an 99-00 Si harness and ecu to run my LsVtec(OBDII setup). You have to do some rewiring but I recommend getting a conversion harness. Should be plug and play.
