how does everyone hide their wires and where do they put the tach?how to wire in the tach to the coi
ok, i connected the 3 out 4 wires needed for the tachometer on my 89 civic. im looking at the distributor cap, and i see the 4 spark plug wires, but i guess the coil for it is internal unlike the 4th gen prelude i got. anyway......i see a couple of wires around there. there are 2 that look like they may be the power ones...one is yellow and purple, and the other one is light blue. which one is the one i have to splice into?
also... how does everyone hide their wires, and where do they put the tach?

First, get a copy of the distributor wiring schematic.
With a meter you can trace the wires from the distributor back towards the ECU, or ignition switch.
(Off the top of my head I don't know right now)
I don't know about your car,
but my '91 Si (Stock wiring) has a few of the distributor wires run towards the ECU via the passenger side. (Right near the fuse box)
And the others run via the drivers' side near the resistor box, then inside the car near the dash.
My BTC is connected right near the under hood fuse box, no where near the distributor itself.
You'd never know any wiring was out of the ordinary.
There is a place to run wires into the car right below the windshield washer/above the ECU.
Plastic wiring loom and ty-wraps are your friend for an original look, along with running the wires alongside the stock wiring.

thanks alot my fellow new yorkers
i dunno about the fuse box that you were talking about, but i did see the blue wire.
so i just cut that, connect the tach, and solder it all back....correct?
thx alot guys, i couldnt get an answer from my prelude board, but you guys sure helpoed out
