heard that you can eiter tap it into your turbo manifold, or tap it into your downpipe.
.. Of course, I dunno which is better, so I thougth i'd ask.
Thanks in advance.

I believe you get the most accurate readings in the #3 runner on the manifold. Mine is tapped in my downpipe so that in the event that the EGT probe breaks, it doesn't kill my turbine.
I have read clost to the block as possible, definitelt before the collector, I'd like to hear or see where others have placed there probes.
Can someone tell me how to wire my Greddy EGT up, I have this link but its not clear it doesn't say where the the wires from the probe go!!! I am beginning to think I was sold a fake gauge!! Please help I have all the wires listed on the link coming out of my gauge..

So, pretty much what you're saying is that if my probe breaks, and my it's hooked onto anywhere on my manifold before the turbo, then my car isn't drivable? is that a temporary problem? Or does it have some major effect on the turbo itself? I would prefer to go the safer route but don't know if it is really neccessary to do so. I have Defi-Link guages, I don't know if that little peice of info might help or not, but I thought it might give you an idea of what I'm looking at here.
Dude, if your probe breaks off and goes through your turbo wheel, it will destroy it and your turbo will need to be rebuilt or replaced.
I seriously doubt the probe is going to break off.....it is designed to take high heat and there should be no reason for it to break....some people are just paranoid and extra cautious I guess.......I would rather have an accurate reading.
