Engine swap...
I have a 96 Civic EX coupe, and i am swapping a b16a engine in it this summer... now me and my friend are going to do this ourselves... and we have never done this before... do you think this is a bad idea.. and is there something special i should watch out for?
Thanks

Its a great idea. Doing a swap is not as hard as you think. Try to get an OBD2 engine since that's whats in your car right now. Also, make sure you do alot of research before hand to get an idea as to what you're going to encounter. You're going to need rear tranny bracket from 99-00 Si and Driver side block bracket from 99-00 Si. Get a decent tool set with 32MM socket, a bracker bar and a hydraulic jack. Also, a helms manual will be great for reference. Im going to be doing my first swap this month and im really excited about it. It will feel way better knowing you did it yourself instead of paying somebody else.

A chilton manuals and haynes manuals are more worthless than toilet paper. Go get a Helms manual. Also it's really not that hard. I just did my first swap which was a b18b into a lx, and im also doing a h22 into a hatch. All you need to do is search on this great site. There are so many knowledgeable people, its amazing. Good luck!
