how to make stock headlights more clear ??
i've been noticing every once in awhile i'll see an 88-91 civic/crx with stock headlights that are more clear than most. here are some examples. the first one is what i'm used to seeing, which is kinda foggy (like my car...) and the second pic is an example where the headlights look nice and clean/new. is the inside dirty? or were there just different versions of them made?

ef headlights are sealed with glue just like eg+, so baking would work to seperate them. careful when prying and make sure you seal them back up with some extra silicone caulking.

What's the best way to seperate them?? I've tired before with the screw driver and broke the glass. Do you heat it first??

They're more clear because they're newer. If you got new head lights they would be a lot more clear
you have to put them in the oven to separate them. is that necessary for ours? can you explain how you did this in detail?
thanks
thanks
the oven heats up the rear section of the headlamp also and can cause some deformation if u are not careful and doont pay too much attention.. the best way its to get a heat gun, or a hair blow dryer..... i used a hair blowdryer..... worked fine, i took my time and pry lil by litle.... worked like a charm..... and no deformations or cracks or overheating .. since i can hold the part and it will not be all hot like it would be like in the oven....
a freind of mine got the yellow off of his ford contour headlights by using some toothpaste, seems like a hokie idea but works very well, good luck
wet sand them, body shops do it all the time. my friend chris had to do it to his DA's one piece head lights, they looked new when he was done.

meguiars(sp?) makes a very good plastic cleaner/polisher that works very good. I used it on mine and made quite a difference. Auto-zone was selling little tubes for $0.99. Maybe that helps.
there is no way polish is gonna make the headlights from the second pic look like the ones from the first pic. those are two different sets of headlights. the glass has like a thicker front section while the second is crystal clear like most of the new hondas. the internals are both the same. i know this because my boy has the crystal clear ones.
