If your serious about sq then look into Image Dynamics IDQ series. I think the website is ImageDynamicsUsa.com.

For an amp check out the JBL 600.1 or 1200.1 depending on what you want to spend.

p.s. Check out AdireAudio.com the Shiva drivers are ugly, but sound damn good. They're cheap too

JBL and IDQ aren't quality? Since when?

 

well id say my JLs are quality actaully only used the system for 2 months and got sick of bumping....

 

find a good deal on a pair od image dynamics idq's v.1 v.2 either one is great. and then for an amp the cheapest , best bang for the buck is usacoutics. you can email ZEDAUDIO@aol.com for a price list, steve is the guy, they made usacousitcs amps for years, and he is selling the leftover stock he has left for awesome price. Ask him for a price list and he will email you what they have. Great amps especially for the $. If you like tons of bass put the idq's in a ported box and run about 200 watts to each and you will have plenty. But for me or if you like it not quite as lous, put them in a sealed box, about .88 ft^3 per sub.

in one of my old setups when i was more spl oriented i had 2 idq v.1's in a ported box with 425x1 going to them and was hitting 143 db. if thats not enough for you , you need help

 

The new IDs are actually better than this year's IDQs. The IDQs will not be redesigned til this summer. If you compare the magnets on the new IDs they are twice as large as the IDQs. I actually compared the subs in my box on Thursday. The IDs sound a lot better.
