My friend has a 97 EX civic, SOHC... He is planning on turboing soon, but wants to do a cam... I recommended the Crower Stage 2 for him... Anybody have any other recommendations? Also, who has the best prices for this?

 

Do not get a crower stage 2. That is a N/A cam. If your friend wants to go turbo then go crower stage 1 or even better crower stage 1 turbo. someone would argue that you should just stick with the stock cam or if you must have a cam then get a turbo cam. However everyone will agree that a stage 2 is bad for turbo.

 

Yeah, don't get the Crower cam. Skunk2 makes a turbo cam. I've heard lot's of good things about it too.

i thought skunk2 didn't make a SOHC cam... How much are we talkin here?

And i thought crower had stage 1 n/a, stage 2 n/a, and stage 2 turbo...

 

skunk2 is going to be releasing a cam for the d-series soon.

I have a JG cam and I love it. If I was turboing though, I'd definately hold out on the skunk one.

 

skunk2 currently makes a z6 cam, but no y8 cam. You will have to play with your timing a bit to make a z6 cam work in a y8.
