Default shifter???

I have 4 spd std hb. My shifter is very loose. Even when I shift it into gear the shift lever moves around as if it were in neutral. The shifter lever doesn't move back into the center like its suppose to. I was told it could be the bushing. Can someone tell me how to fix this problem?

You have 2 choices-find a set of Energy Suspension poly ones or go to your local Honda dealer and pay about the same-BUT-get all of the pieces. This includes the nylon socket that the shifter rests in and the rubber boots and O-rings.

Sounds like the plastic spring (kind of a round plastic cage) that goes around the shift lever pivot is busted. you can get a new one at Honda cheap. I am guessing it is not your bushings based on the symptoms you describe (although the poly bushing kit is a nice addition).

Its not shifter linkage bushings(as in energy suspension kit).

Its the bushing thats pressed into the bottom of the shift rod...replace that and it will be better again.

Just get a shorty shifter. Comes with the bushings already installed. My shifter felt like I was shifting with a broom stick until I put a shorty in.
