Help with Honda S2000 start button in an EG coupe!!!
Here is my problem. I hooked up a honda s2000 start bitton in my 94 coupe. The directions say to get under the steering column and find the big black wire that has a white strip on it. I located it and it was on the far right side if you are looking up at it from the floor. When I push the button to start the car all I get is a whirring clicking sound and the car won't start. Is there another black wire with a white stripe on it under there, may I have mistakenly gotten the wrong one. Like I said all I get is a whirring clicking noise, but when I turn the key the car starts right up. I have my car torn apart and any help that you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and God Bless.
Sounds like you have it *RIGHT*
All the starter button should do is activate the starter mechanism, not power all the other functions in the car. Just like in the S2000, you will need to have your key in the ignition and turn to the on or run position for the button to work properly.
If you need more help let me know. If I were you I would wire the S2000 switch in through a relay so that it would not activate the starter UNLESS the key is on.

does the black wire you hacked go from the fuse panel to the end of the key ignition? what gauge would you say the wire is?? How good are your connections??
dont hook it up a la brava..... check out this website.... i hooked up 2 relays with my switch.... the second relay is so the starter wont grind when the car is allready on..... http://www.oichan.org/mods/starter/starter2.htm
I have been referencing that formentioned site, but with the VW vr6, the second relay has thrown me off. Also, what wire did you use for the starter wire. Is that Ign 1 or Ign 2?
Would someone have a wiring diagram for a 95LS Integra, which I would assume to be identicle to a civic.
Obviolsy the ground and 12v will be easy enough, I just need to know what wire to use for the starter and how to hook up the second relay on the integra.
Thanks in advance!
