k, need your guys opinions on this! sold this guy my engine and tranny (DOHC ZC and Si tranny). he has the **** put in by his shop, finally gets it running and he "ran drove ok...for 5 min...but then hit a bump under gas and boom clutch gone...nothing just slippage...pulled like a rapped ape but thn clutch let loose..." (this was on an AOL IM) he also said that he smelt no burning clutch... so anyway he is pulling the tranny right now and this is what he sees when he pulls the drain plug on the tranny (the pic)....need your guys opinions!!! thanks

 

it looks like metal galore in the tranny fluid. what kind of tranny fluid was used last?

i think a bearing or 2 or 3 went bad from the looks of it.

 

does the fluid look like coffee? friend had the same **** , tranny is going

 

tranny was fine last week when we took it out of my car. oil came out as clear as it went in (10w30). he claims this happend after only five minutes of driving it...

 

so it blew, and he rolled to a stop?

can he press the clutch in, and shift? Does he have pedal pressure? that strange, if oil is clean, and he can shift, i would think his pressure plate blew up, last time i had trany problems, i was cruzin, and pulled into my driveway, and it froze up.. i coudln't move, i have a 4 puck dual diaphram PP, and i was still buring clutch... i NEVER burn clutch.. anyways, i could even push it, but i had gears... towed it to the shop, and drained the oil, it was like glitter! all gears, and bearings were fine, the diff was shot... the main pin was bent to hell.. haha.. and it was a B16 tranny.. those puppy's arn't cheap! i was pissed.. but i would think it would be his clutch. check it out.

 

oh yeah, and why is the tranny oil in that pic white? why is it sooo clear, some synthetic blend or something?

 

yeah it looks like he filled the trani with semen.

 

if he lets out the clutch and the car doesnt move, then does the speedometer still go up?

 

Did you have tranny problems before or after the 100 shot NX?

 

how do you prevent from something like this happening?

 

My problems? Ahh, actaully after, but ive been threw soo many, its not funny... i needed a trany, so figured ide buy a changeover, and part it out, then figured, 1200 for a changeover, might as well dish out another 500, and get the whole clip.. lol, it never ends.. but now im SiR converted.. and it feels good.

 

if the fliud is white (i cant see the pic very well, damn school monitor ) its got water in it. very bad for the tranny. water doesnt lubricate very well
