Default Got a couple of goodies!

Got these a few weeks ago. Both for $250 brand new
I currently have an older Xplode. I wonder how much of a difference there would be upgrading to this. The bad part is I have JBL interiors all around. Anyone recommend a good interior speaker? I don't have an amp/subs and would rather not have either. I'm more of a clarity person. I have a 1992 Integra GSR (not sure what size speakers...I never checked =\) I haven't installed these yet [not sure if I want XM, anyone have/(not)recommend it?]

Anyway, I was bored and thought I'd snap a few pics...

Amps and subs aid in producing clarity. I'm not sure, but if you are powering your interior speakers off of the head unit, the Alpine won't make much of a difference. Now, if you add a small 4 channel amp, the difference will be night and day. Nice purchase though.

Alpine headunits are awesome. The internal crossover is by far the best thing about the headunit.

You are gonna LOVE that head unit..> NIGHT AND DAY difference... I had an Xplod Mobile ES Head Unit in my Si, and I swapped to an alpine, and HOLY ****! the difference was AMAZING... SOOO much cleaner, SOO much louder... My alpine is 60x4... And looks so much better too...

My dad walked in with these a few weeks ago, I didn't pick them out, but hey I'm not complaining. I can't wait to install it.

Anyone recommend some good interiors? I know a 4 channel amp would help A LOT, but I'm not sure if I want that yet. Maybe if the price is right

Any recommendations on anything?

You'll get very small gains by just upgrading the interior speakers. Your alpine might be 60w x 4, but that is MAX. Its more like 15w x 4. The smallest (sub $100) amps would make more of a difference than that CD player or new speakers would.

What kind of speakers would be able to nicely handle 50WX4?

Thanks!

I like MB Quart coax speakers, they are a lot cheaper than they were a few years ago. JL audio makes good coax speakers as well so does Eclipse, Infinitys are not bad. Pioneer and Sony speakers are so so. http://www.crutchfield.com should have a listing for your car's speaker sizes.

I don't care for the $10/month XM fee. It just depends how much time you spend driving. I think MP3 players are the ticket for lots of music in a small space.

coaxial? why would you run coaxial in the front? imho components will give you a better sound representation and clarity than coaxials. Also, with flush mount tweeters, you can angle the highs to your liking. besides....components can be had for only a few bones more than coaxials. you can find infinity kappa perfects for like low 200 something. and if you don't have that much then the kappas are still decent and will take anything that alpine headunit can throw at it.
