Default B16 EG Hybrid Owners...

So, yeah, I KNOW theres a thread like this every single day but I was wondering... People with B16A engines swapped into their EGs...Are you satisfied with the performance? Or do you regret not puttin a b18 in there? Just want to know bc I'm really liking the inexpensiveness of this swap/motor combo. If you've got down to the trakc, what sorta times do you run? Thanks.

nsxmatt runs like a 14.2 or something with i/h/e in a VX with a second gen B16. I'm sure anyone with a B16 that drives a hybrid with a B18 is gonna regret getting the torqueless bitch... you can spend an extra grand on mods and still not be faster than the extra grand the stock b18c1 costs. Depends on what kinda racing you want to do...

I dont know if you didnt understand the question, but just in case, I might need to clear it up.... I mean this: After they swapped in the B16 and drove it around, did they ever regret swappin a b16 instead of a b18?

A b16 is a fun little motor to drive around, but like people say, my gsr motor is so much more worth it.

Yeah I pretty much concur, for the price it's a fun motor and an amazing improvement over the stock CX motor. Right now all I have is a h/e and new clutch and I'm running high 14's and still havent got a solid run. I wouldn't doubt I could pull a mid 14 as is, but I would definitely want more tq. I'm in the process of upgrading to 1.8, so yes the tq is worth it. I got my motor for practically nothing so I can't complain, but if I were starting over with enough money I'd go 1.8 or 2.0.

I agree. I don't regret getting my B16 though because I got a great deal on it, there was no GSR swaps available and I was under a time limit before I was about to move. In that situation I had no choice but I know if I had a GSR swap with the same mods I have now I would be in the 13's easy with alot more useable TQ around town.

If you can afford it go GSR if you can't then B16's work great too

1.8 I wish I went type R fawk the all the other B.S. By the time I spent on CTR cams, type r tranny, and valvetrain I could've of just had a c5

14.2 was on stripped back half and 16" street tires. Now i'm running 14" Nitto's and stripped it out and ran a 9.1 1/8th.

B16A with Toda Pistons/Crower Rods/TOda B cams/Ported Head would be a fun motor setup with a 4.92 final drive...... I will soon find out....

I have had my 93 DX with a b16a2 in for like 4 months. When I first got it, I was so happy. But then again, I had never driven a "hybrid". But now, Im kinda like "man this **** is slow." But Im only 17 and have low income. So, for right now, Im happy. I wanna see how fast I can get with this motor. I have basically no bolt-ons as we speak. I wanna be able to hit mid to low 14's on Vegas' sucky elavation. Just my HO.
