i have a 95 dx, the motor is all stock. my friend with a 97 lx just got a y8 head. i can get his y7 head for free. is it worth the time to put it on my dx motor?

 

hmm....i really dont know if its gonna work even though there both d-series ( i think your motor is d15b(?) ).....your motor is a 1.5L and the y7 head comes off of a 1.6L.....but i could be wrong...........

 

well i have been doing some math. i used a online compression calculator, the y7 head and a y8 head gasket will bump the compression from (stock 9.1) to 11.7. so it looks like i will have to us premium gas. the valves are also all 1mm bigger. i think i might get some decent hp for free.

 

Save up for a y8 head, its not very expensive, and it'll do alot better.

 

for free a can't pass it up. the work is cool with me, i like to do stuff like that. now that i know it will work, i am going to put it on. a am still going to look for a z6 or y8 head. does anyone know what timeing belt i will need?
