I have this kinda swishing sound near my crank shaft pulley and alternator area like the belt i'm not too sure where...the sound only occurs when it's wet/raining or damp/...in hot weather there's no sound...

any ideas? need v belt changed?

Belts usually squeak because of slippage.. They're either too loose or too old. A temporary solution would be to just tighten them up.. but since you have a lot of miles, you might want to replace them soon. Good Luck

 

anyone know how much belts cost to replace?

 

alternator, power steering, a/c.. all around 10 bucks each at pepboys/autozone/etc.

 

well i guss i'll give that a try...
if it still sounds with new belts have any other ideas heh
