Grinding in my Tranny, getting worse!~whats a synchro?
Ok, quick overview!
my tranny grinding in reverse 1st 3rd and 5th, reverse the most then 5th then 3rd then 1st....the reverse is the worst tho, because somtimes i cant even shift intot it, i have to dot he 1st gear to reverse thing, like 4 times, or i somtimes have to let up on the clutch a little. but its almost llike when i shift my gears to want to lock, they just grind and dont move when i push the stick into position, so i have to clutch and shift again, which is majorly anoying, (*cough* when racing *cough*)
some people in other forums have told me to replace the clutch and tranny fluids, and to check the clutch sensor switch, (also somtimes the engine wont turn on with the clutch down) , also they have said that it sounds like it could be the synchros, what are they, i know that they replacement is expensive and i might as well get a whole new tranny, but what are they? and...
WHAT DO I DO!!!!! i dont want to spend G's i want to spend very little, i need money for mods not repairs!
***also mind you i am not stupid and ignorant, i am at a full stop when shifting into reverse, and yes i am sure i have the clutch pedal pushed in when i shift, and yes i am shifting correctly, no matter what speed the grinding occurs!.....

When my clutch went out, there were similar problems with grinding. From a stop I pretty much couldn't get it into 1st or reverse without quite a bit of pressure. Occasionally when shifting I would get grinds in 3rd (especially when downshifting).
Slowly it got worse until I could barely get it into gear and every gear grinded horribly, then it wouldn't do ****. Pulled the tranny and the clutch was pretty much gone. Now things are fine except at high rpm on the shift from 2-3 there is a slight grind (synchro).
