Okay, i finished my crvtec swap into my 89 CRX HF, I got blown90hatch's obd0-obd1 harness, so im running obd1, i had a problem with a bad injector resistor box, so i just went with obd1 saturated injectors... so today was the first day i was really able to drive the car. I notice that once the engine warmed up, a loud screech came from the engine. I dont know what it is. When i give the car gas, the sound goes away, once i left off the gas, it comes back. Its fairly loud, and im afraid to drive the car because I dont want a main bearing going out on me or something.

If anyone can help, Id really appreciate.

 

okay here is an update
took off A/C belt
took off alt belt
took off upper plastic cover
pressed in clutch
when the engine is turned off, i can see the timing belt stop, but for a second after the belt stops, the stupid whine is still there... its comming from the motor, the whine stops about a second or 2 after the motor STOPS moving
im very confused
someone please help!

Did you bash the frame rail to make room for the alternator pully? Alot of times the alt pully will rub the frame rail and make a super loud screeching noise. A smaller alt belt may help if this is the problem.

 

he said he took of the alt pulley and the problem is coming "from the engine"....

check tension of timing belt

 

turns out it was a hose hooked up to the wrong place
