Default help with valve cover?

I sprayed my valve cover flat black and it looks like shat, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to get it back to my original finish...paint thinner didn't work. Thanks.

what valve cover do you have,..is a dseries or bseries cover??? im guessing dseries,...if so then just use paint stripper,..you can get it at any auto store,...spray on and let sit for 5-15 miins,..it will start to bubble and then just wipe off,...WARNING,..do not let it get in contact with your skin,..it will itch and burn

well if you wanted to go back to the wrinkle black it had then i dont think its possible to strip the flat black off and save the wrinkle black finish it came with,..so in other words just strip it the way i told you to do it in my earlier post,..actually i like the bare metal look better anyways,...you can also try repainting it after you stripped it and sand it,..good luck

The best 'paint stripper' I have tried is gasket remover. You can buy it at the auto parts store too. It comes in a spray can and takes the paint right off. It won't harm your skin or valve cover either.

you wont be able to remove the black and keep the krinkle. But i use aircraft remover from auto zone or pep boys. Just spray it on and let it sit. works real good.

Try brake parts cleaner first. It should take the new paint off and leave the stock krinkle finish behind for you. Two spray cans should be sufficient.
