are the type r valves larger than stock and by how much? i know they are lighter and have a special stem to them that improves flow. i know a 3 angle from honda will surfice for seating but is anything else neccessary in doing so they will work/ fit correctly?

I will be doing this shortly actually. Taking a cylinder head class at a CC and i'll let you know how it goes.

Type-r valve diameter is 33mm compared to 31mm for the b16a. I'll let you know if the factory b16a seats have enough meat on them and can be ground to size.

Currently rebuilding first and second gen b16a heads. Wish me luck.

I've heard that only the intake valves are larger on the ITR head vs. the b16 and exhaust valve size is the same. Any one know for sure?

All the B series valves are the same size. There is no difference in valve face diameter between an ITR valve and a B16 valve. The stems are turned down slightly on the ITR valve in the port bowl area, and that is the reason that they are lighter. Otherwise, they are the same.

i believe i maybe mistaken. better for me...less work.

non-vtec (Ls) valves are 31mm.

they are deshrouded.
ifyou put itr intake valves into a b16a head, you will need to have the seats redone
exhaust valves are identical

itr intake valves use a different seat angle than other b-vtec intakevalves.

i would say they are worth getting but like i said before, you need to get the seats redone

ITR & B16A are the same just the ports are different, if youput the itr valves into a B16A head it will be awesome.......
