i dont want any turbo and i dont wanna do a ls vtec................just wanna build my motor it only has 70k on it i am lookin to spend around 3 grand on it.....i wanna get good stuff but it doesnt have to be the absolute best....what do u recomend in pistons and rods
i think he's just trying to do a normal rebuild, not one of those crazy 12.5:1 compression piston rebuilds
if that's the case, i would stick with oem parts. when i did my rebuild, i bought ITR pistons for an extra kick, so maybe you should concider getting ITR pistons, oem ls rods blah blah blah.
and if you learn anything about rebuilds on h-t, it's the HELMS.

b16 or R pistons not sure on price
crower 403 with valve train 900 plus install
Intake manifold 300
all depends on if u can do the work yourself, if u can u can do more becasue it will cost less.

with those crowers you would definately need new valvesprings... stock retainers should be okay. if you are going to raise the redline for those cams ( i dont know what their powerband is) you might want to get them nitride coated... what are your power goals???? because getting high number on SOHC NA is a tough adventure (you definately can make some decent numbers w/ the right parts but it gets expensive just like an NA or FI setup).
