I think my car is running rich,,
Hi everyone I have a few questions about my civic.
when I change my oil it is black and smells like gas. I change it every 3,000 miles and I use Mobil 1 5/30, every other oil change I have been using Lucas Oil stabilizer. other than that i add nothing. I have done a compresion test and the readings were consistant across all cylinders. I do run and often shift @ 7500rpm on a daily basis. I did some searches on this board and a few others with no results.
my specs are (engine wise):
00 civic Si
AEM cai
DC 4-2-1 header and DC sport cat back
I have done all of the maintence so far described by the helm (bible)
my question is , Is this a problem? (really black oil) yes I burn an average of 1/2 qt of oil every 1,5xx - 2,xxmiles. I know I need a valve adjustment but I don't have the time to do it myself.
Any thoughts please.

well your obviously getting some kind of blow by first try a cylinder leak down test and make sure your cylinders are holding compression. Often tiems they can make but not hold compression. Second ditch the 5w30 and go with 10w30 it's just that much better
How do I check the injectors? My gas milage seems to be the same. could it be that I need a valve adjustment? I do a lot of downshifting and usualy shift @ 6500 to 7k. This one has me puzzled next weekend I think I will do a leak down test to see if there is a problem.
