I'm running CTR cams with a stock ITR ECU (stock redline). I bought brand new ITR retainers, reusing the B16 outter springs, and using portflow inner springs. Is this safe? Can I get away with using B16 inners too?

Okay, I have two choices:
1) ITR inner and outter INTAKE springs and stock B16 inner and outter EXHAUST springs.
or
2) B16 outter and portflow inner springs?
Which is a better/safer setup?

i would be concerned with choice one because first of all, b16a doesnt have dual
exhaust springs. you would want the b16a dual intake springs for the exhaust side.

Forget the whole deal. I'm gonna go with portflow inners, stock B16 outters for both intake and exhaust side. I'm upgrading to titanium retainers too, just to be on the safe side.
What retainers should I get? Skunk2 or portflow retainers? Should I get the portflow retainers to match them with the portflow stiffened inners? Or are skunk2 better than portflow?

Stick to the ITR retainers and go with itr intake outer and inner springs / b16a outer springs on the exhaust.

Seriously, if you're spending the money on building up your engine why would you ever cut corners? Get ITR outers and Portflow inners with titanium retainers. That's the safest setup with your choices. You can do what you want to your car, but I can see the next thread in the Tech forum:

Okay, I'm seriously confused now. I searched and read that titanium retainers wear out quicker than stock retainers. I'm just planning to run CTR cams at stock redline as a daily driver. I want the retainers to last the life of my motor. So honestly, what would you guys recommend for a daily driver with CTR cams? What spring and retainer setup should I use? The last thing I want is a cracked retainer. My motor is going in this month, thanks for all your input so far.
i dont get how you have soo many post yet......
...if its a stock redline then youll be fine with full Type-R valvetrain + the retainers..!

Okay...I'm officially freaked out with the titanium retainer horror stories.
This setup is for my daily driver and 98% street use, so I guess I'll stick with stock retainers.

you should get itr intake outer springs.
you can use your b16a outer springs on the exhaust side though.
