OBD1 B18b swap in EK..............PROBLEMS!!! Wiring?
Ok heres the situation, I got a 98 Civic and I just dropped in a OBD1 B18b Block (no Crank Sensor) with a OBD2 B18b head. I know the car wont run right cause there is no crank sensor by timing belt so I chose to make my own OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness and I am using an OBD1 P75 ECU. I followed the DIY in http://www.jdmfan.com. Here's the list of problems:
Cranks but won't start.
MPH jumps when cranking.
When starting I hear a clicking sound by the ECU.
No spark while starting (I took out the plug while my friend cranked it and no sparking)
I don't hear my fuel pump click.
Also I know that on civics and tegs that when the KEY is in the ON position all the dash lights are on including the CEL, but when you start it all the lights go off including the CEL. When my key is in the ON position the CEL no longer lights.
I think this is definitely a wiring problem cause before I bought the motor I drove the kid's car and ran great. Also tested the ECU. So what could it be??? PLEASE help me out. Do I have to repin anything? Has anyone made their own conversion harness that can give me a diagram so I can double check mines??? Please help me out.

Ok, when you check for spark, are you holding it in mid air or putting it by the radiator support?
Also verify all GROUNDS are good...
this means the tranny, the motor (by the thermostat housing) & valve cover.
obviously battery being hooked up.
also, recheck your pin-outs on the OBD2->OBD1 conversion.

K all the grounds are good, and I am pointing the igntion wires at the valve cover while my friend cranks it. But no spark from any of the wires. The distributor was an OBD1 but I soldered on an OBD2 plug on it. Could it be that the distributor is bad? And would this explain my MPH jumping while cranking and the clicking I hear near the ECU?

Ya the ECU was tested on a 95civic. I dont' here the fuel pump priming, is it only one fuse? I checked the fuse that says SRS/Fuel Pump and it was good. Is there another fuse to check? All the grounds were double checked. BLOWN90HATCH...........thanks for the help...................and to everyone esle thanks also. Where's the starter signal fuse located?

Would anyone know why I hear a clicking sound by the ECU when I crank the car?
Since I am using an OBD2 to OBD1 harness do I have to repin anything to use an OBD1 LS ecu? or are the OBD1 LS ecu pinouts the same as the OBD1 civics?
do you have a multimeter?? Do a diode check, the test that gives off an audible sound when you touch each end with the probes to verify it's good.....check each and every slot on the conversion harnes to make sure your solder or whatever is good....cuz even tho it may look good you're probably not getting good continuity...just a thought!
K still wont start, I get no spark from any of the wires, cranks like hell but wont start. No spark not even a little one.........lol. Could it be that the Distributor is Bad? Help me out here.
I have had a similar problem with a clicking noise. If you try and start a car without the ecu hooked up it should make the same noise. Also the fuel pump wont turn on if the ecu connections are wrong. I know that you said you checked the wiring but that is the only thing that can be wrong from what you are describing. Try and use your obdII ecu just to start the car. If it still is messed up from there then sorry I am all out of ideas. Good Luck
just an idea, if you have no spark, the engine will obviously not fire, i would test the coil in the dist. (its the box with the little spring coming out under the cap) i would also look at the cap and rotor and make sure there is no corrosion or build up. just my thoughts
