Default VTEC malfunction

I get CEL 22 almost every time I start the car now. Finally tested the VTEC pressure switch today and it's only reading 6.5 volts, not 12. Do I need to replace the switch entirely? If so, is it an expensive part?

Acura quoted me $68.74 on it today. I replaced mine with one from a Del Sol SOHC VTEC and it works perfect. I dont know if it is the right way or not. I am currently waiting on responses from people to my thread, but as of right now, my car is running better than ever.

thanks guys.

I think I may have been reading the voltage wrong b/c today it seems to be normal. However, there is no continuity in the VPC (assuming I tested it right). Once today I hit what felt like the fuel cut right at the vtec changeover. Very, very disconcerting. Would a bad switch cause that to happen?

Well I checked back with Acura and the part is not $68 but $152. That is obscene. I had the same problem but my car didnt hit the fuel shut off right after VTEC. Instead it hit what felt like the fuel shutoff at 8000rpm (indicated). This was about 600-1000 rpm less than normal.

My switch is reading 16.5 ohm which is near the bottom of the operational range (15-30 ohm). Is this any explaination as to why I have almost all of my revs?
