Need axles, looking for opinions (rebuilt or used) Which is better???
Ok, I need new axles as mine are both gone bad. Now, I have a friend that will trade me some used axles, not sure how many miles are on them but they have untorn boots and aren't damaged at all. Or I could get two rebuilt ones for not too expensive, ie checker, napa, etc. My friend said the rebuilt's suck and will break easily and I would be better off with used stock ones. I'm not sure which to go with. I have 92 hatch w/ SOHC turbo. It's a daily driver, but I baby it all the time, and only race it at the track. Which would be better, or longer lasting for me. Thanks in advance

When I had to replace mine, I checked out the local auto discount stores. It would have been around $69 each with a warranty. The more I researched, the more I leaned towards something better so I didn't have to do the job again in 10 months. I ended up paying $99 each for very good quality remanufactured half shafts from raxels.com . Some good information on their site about CV joints, too.
Alright, thanks guys. I think I already answered my own question but helpful stuff none the less.
And, no, I actually can't just buy new ones as I am quite tight on dough at the moment, unless you have a place that I could check out that sells brand new, not rebuilt/remanufactured, for a reasonable price. Even a reasonable price is probably too high right now for me
. Oh well, thanks though.

Stay away from the Discounted Axles, for some reason, I had bad luck with them as well with alot of people that I know.
