while playing rally racer in the snow today, my tranny started actin kinda funny. when shiftin 1-2-3, its fine, but when i go to put it in 4th, its real hard to get in, and so is 5th. and down shiftin from 4-3 is also really hard, so is R. and when i shift out of 5th, into N, N is real hard, it doesn't want to move freely. whats the prob?

shift bushing getting hard? maybe something is getting frozen...seems like it has to do with the weather.

 

yeah, when i come outta 5th, N is real hard to move back and forth. but once i work at it a little, then its ok, but it still shifts real hard. oh, and it didn't start doing this till i was already drivin for like a half and hour.

Get under the car and check the shift linkage, if the tranny is not making any grinding noises its probably the shift linkage.

 

sounds familiar, I had similar problems with mine. I just pulled the tranny apart today to put a new clutch in, assuming this was the problem, and what do ya know a piece was broken off the pressure plate messing things up, not to mention my clutch was almost worn down to metal.

 

new development! now third grinds! and forth and fifth are a bitch to get in
