4-1 header questions
Deciding whether or not to purchase a DC or ITR 4-1 header. I have a first gen b16 with the new HaSport Billet mounts. From what I've researched I think the mounts cause the engine to sit higher.
What I plan to do is get one for the 99-00 Si which should sit higher than the GSR one. Is all of this information correct. I know I am going to have to "modify" the crossmember for clearance, but am I still going to have an issue with ground clearance. Any help is appreciated.

all that needs 2b done is notching the crossmember to fit the jdm headers , ive had an ls/vtec , b18c5 currently , and a ls swaps all in my hatch, the only problem i had w/ clearence w/ those headers is bottoming out on the header. this problem can easily be remedied by fabricating a skidplate and u will be fine . My friend has an 89crx si w/ b16 and hasport mounts and a jdm dc 4-1 , we made a skid plate and now has no clearence probs. what so ever . good luck >>> evan

so what exactly does the skid plate do? Keep it from getting scraped. If I hit a major bump aren't I going to dent both the skid plate and the header. Also does the non-JDM DC 4-1 have a 2.5 inch collector as well. If not my only choice is the JDM ITR or JDM DC header, is that correct?

nah, with the skid plate, you'll most likely just scrape it.. on mine, its flexing all the way to the head.. that far.. unless you have in all the manifold mounts.. i don't.. but nah, your not going to go through the plate, and the header.. thats a bit much, and yeah... the JDM ITR manifold is beeeeefy! im getting it, but the pipes are huge, and the 2.5" collector, yeah, your gunna have major clearance probs.
http://www.fastlineperformance.com/ just figured id post it. also i have another friend w/ a 91 hf w/ gsr swap he running a dc 4-2-1 w/o a problem and no skidplate , to use this header u do not need to notch the crossmember

i have s kidplate. its welded to my crossmember. i ha to raise my car up 1 1/2 inch to get MINIMAL clearnece. i scrape on my driceway every morning when i leave, and have ot avoid all speedbumps. ive scraped the skidplatwe so much its worn thin and im going to have to get another piece of metal welded to it.
gives u an idea how high my car is and my driveway incline..

that skid plate looks really nice, definetly a possibility. If you scrap on that driveway, you're going to scrap almost everywhere. I think I'm going with the ITR manifold and a skid plate. Just won't use driveways anymore. Thanks for the help.
