Default Move from JRSC to turbo....who's done it??

Hi everyone. Newbie here. I have posted this on another board but although heavily viewed and responded to I didn't really get the info I was looking for. Someone replied that this is where all the converts go to. I want to know from people who have gone from a good JRSC set up to a turbo (maxrev, revhard etc etc). Any regrets??? I am toying with the idea (for a quantum leap in performance) but am a bit concerned about loss of 'streetability' (low down torque, turbo lag etc). I want to keep my car a daily driver with the occasional drag down the strip.

I switched.

I'll never go back.

JRSC @ 6-8psi is no fun (imo)
JRSC @ 10+ psi is a freakin' head-ache.

Turbo is Win!

I went from JRSC to a turbo. Its a good switch. Much more power. As long as you do it safe...you should be no probem. Stock motor will handle 8-10 psi no problem with the right fuel and ignition.

As far as lag goes, there isnt all that torque thats there with the JRSC. You know how right now...when you step on the gas..in 1st gear you can just do a crucial burnout? That goes away. Instead, when you hit full boost at about 5 grand...you feel like youre being pressed against your seat, and your car doesnt even sound like a honda anymore. It sounds posessed. And if you redline your shifts, after 1st gear, there shouldnt be any lag.

I went 13.8 in my 00 Si with some crap *** drag radials when I had the charger on. It wasnt a **** setup either. 8psi pulley, hondata 2b, tuned. 240 whp.

I went 12.2 on some 15" slicks pulling a 2.1 60' time with the turbo. I made 300+ whp on a stock motor. If i could have ran it on some 13" slicks..i would have been in the 11's. And i drive the car to work everyday. Hope that helps. Peace.
