Hey guys. This winter my front suspension has started creaking when acceleration begins (less than about 10 mph) on cold days. I thought it may have been drivetrain related but my mechanic ( a former Prelude racer) said it was nothing to loss sleep over. It sounds like the springs expanding. The creaking occurs when the front end lifts under acceleration. BTW, I am driving a 97 base model that is 137,000 miles new. Thoughts? Similar problems?
yeah i think it's the bushings. make sure it's not something else though. Mine squeeks but it's my hook latch. I thought my suspension went out but i rattled the car a few times by opening and closing the door and discovered that my cf hook was rattling my hood latch.
I also have a small squeak when front end lifts. Like if the springs were rubbing against metal somewhere... (does this sound with both stock and modified springs/shocks)
I also have this "TOC!" sound when I launch from medium to hard from a stop after I brake hard (again when front end lifts). At frist I tough that the pads were sticking on the disks but the more I investigate the more I think it may be related to :
- broken engine mounts ?
- bushings or other loose part in suspension ? (I wouldn't think springs or shocks since I changed them back to stock for winter and still got the same "TOC")
