Default water to air daily driveability?

Once I get my TIG welder, one of my first projects is to make a water to air intercooler out of an 84 Mustang SVO ic. Dimensions are: 12X6X3 inches(2.25, 2.5inch inlet/outlet respectively), and i plan to shape the aluminum around the ic to hold about a gallon of water at the intercooler.
I want to know if this setup would work well for a daily driver with around 400whp, and when tracktime comes, I would just dump some ice in the in-cabin resevoir.
any pics of custom setups including resevoirs??? I know Abaz from Homemadeturbo.com is working on something like this...I just need to learn a little more before I commit and sell my montrous dodge ram I.C.

I was actually reading about this but it was a spearco ic, from what they said it's for mainly race cars but can be used a really modded street cars as yourself. They said it keeps the keeps the temperature below ambient all the time. I would go for it since your motor seems to have plenty power.
