Default a/f gauge install help

i installed an autometer a/f gauge into my car. it gets power, but it's stuck at the richest point, no matter what happens. i tapped into the line that connects to the o2 sensor, i believe it's a white/red wire. do i do that correctly? is it better to wire it to the ecu? where has everyone else wired their's?? thanks alot

no it wont get a correct reading at the ecu .. you need to wire it about 1 1/2 inches away from the actual o2.

i did that, and it's still acting goofy. it lights up about 10 different lights at once, and that part goes rich or lean. does anyone's autometer gauge actually work?

mine worked. you have to connect it to the o2 sensor. my car needed to warm up the o2 before it was really working. while warming up, it was stuck on rich

A/F gauges are scerwy anyway. I have used them for a few years and all of them do that no matter where you put the wire (closer to the O2 is best). Recently i have decided to use a 3 way A/f gauge (wideband). they cost a little more but are much more reliable and give correct readings and signals.
