ok so here are some pics.... stock sleeves:

and these are the sleeves that I have, with a block guard

And as far as I know...you cant weld aluminum to iron, therefore if those sleeves were iron, that block guard shouldnt be welded in. Can anyone please help?

i dunno man, i dont think u got any sleeves...normally there isnt two different materials in an aftermarkets sleeve( the dark half and the light half) like on your stock sleeve. and im pretty sure benson uses darton sleeves and darton sleeves are T shaped and all solid in color...i dont think you got sleeved, raise hell.....

Funny you should ask.. I just took apart my motor today, and have a benson sleeved block and can tell you for certain that those are not benson's sleeves. An even easier way to tell is that the benson sleeves are o-ringed with copper on top to aid in sealing, and you don't have any of that. Time to raise hell.

I'm running Bensons sleeves and yes, mine have a copper O-ring around the edges of each cyl. (Which I believe was an option) The sleeve material itself should look one solid color slightly darker than the aluminum of the block. They will also have a visable "seam" between each cyl as they are molded seperatly and then pressed in all at once.

Here is a pic of my block from a couple years back. You can clearly see the copper O-ring and that the entire sleeve is a much darker color than the block itself.

That block has been sleeved, but if they are Bensons I cant say. You can tell by looking at the distance between the Iron sleeves. IF you look at the first pic you can see alot of Aluminum between the cylinders, in the second pic there is very little space.

I have seen Benson blocks that look just like that, but not for years...
