My friend has had his gsr swap for about 2 months everything was fine got a new distributer like 2-3 weeks ago. We were driving on the freeway today and his lights were on but the gauge lights started to dim. Then suddenly his rpm dropped to 0. but the car was running. he turned off his lights and the rpm went back to where it should be about 3000 rpm. Then we rushed home and parked infornt of his house. Soon the lights started to dim more and more and just turned off. His radio turned off and so did his clock. So we turned the car off and tryed to turn it on but it didnt turn on. So we jumped it. We let it charge for about 5-7 mins. Left the car on for like 5 minutes and soon enough everything started to dim again. We checked the alternator wiring and redid some parts of it. Still no luck. We are going to take it to the mechanic shop tommorrow and hook up the alternator to the volt meter and see if its the alternator. If its not what can it be? Or what can it be right now?.....thanx

its most likely the alternator,..its bad,..have the alternator tested,..but i would put my money on it being a bad alternator

Alternator definately. Atleast his car didnt die on the freeway in the middle of nowhere. i had to pullover( like i had a choice ) in the outskirts of Merced, CA. One of the natives drove by and threw gravel to the rear of my car and just took off. damn i need a cold one right now!
