Do 1997 civic's have the big reinforcement beam under rear seats???
i know the 96's dont, and the 98's do, but Im wondering any of you w/ 97's have this? it goes across horizontally and attaches at the walls. I ask because there's like a 35pd increase in curb weight from 97 to 98, just thought this maybe the cause...

wow, thats weird then, because weight-wise, 97 is only ~10pd more than 96 model, but the beam itself weighs over 20 pounds ( I weighed them myself)... hmm, some honda factory weight reduction?? Or did they just forget to put one in my 96?

Reinforcement beam started in 97.
Trunk switched from popper to handle in 98. (In hatches)
99 had the new front end and electronic climate controls.
Just what came to my mind at the time.
