Default Alternator questions.

1. What is the max output amperage of a '00 dx alternator?

2. Are there any oem honda alternators with a higher output that I could swap in?

1. a max output of around 60-80A

2. I searched high and low for some time. I think the passport or maybe even the new element would have a 120A alternator. Now I'm 100% unsure if it would be a swap or not. With the way that honda/acura recycles parts, I would think of looking at an Acura MDX to see where they stand....I'd be EXTREMEMLY interested in what you found....my research says No though.

Should have gotten a GTiJetta - 120A bosch alternators from the factory!!

Cool... I think if I could get around 20amps more my light dimming would cease.

Has anyone ever done an alternator swap into a 4 cylinder honda. The v6's, passport, mdx, cl/tl have much better power output. 105-120 to start. 180 amp rewound is pretty cheap too <200.

I have been searching, but I cannot find dimensions for alternators.
