Default Alternator connector swap??

I have an '88 Acura Integra and the alternator went out. A buddy was able to get me an alternator from a 2000 honda crv and said they would work. Well I modified my old pulley to fit on the new alternator and now I am just curious if I can change out the connector (complete with the bracket) The screws line up and everything, will it screw up my car??
