Default cars hesitating

hey i just ran into a problem with my car. (93 h22a1 prelude) on the way to work i was doing a 120 and all of a sudden my car seemed to sputter. nothing violent, but it was like i hit redline and then accelerated, then decelerated and so forth. same thing happened on my way home. again i started picking up speed and the accel, slowdown kicked in. a minute later the check engine lite came on. i took it fairly easy after that. at the main gate to my base i shut her off and restared it. NO check engine light. my friend and i looked under the hood for some sign of wear or damage but we didnt notice anything. the only thing i can figure was that the fuel injector cleaner i added when i filled up last nite messed my car up. has this happened to anyone? if so is it bad? if not, got any suggestions as to what it mite be, and how to remedy the problem. thanx.

first off.... why do you need to go 120?
most cars have a governer on it... the speedo says it will go 140, gut when you hit a certain speed it will feel like you lose all power and it will automatically bring you down to a reasonable speed.
im not sure when the vtec kicks on for sure... i doubt that it would go out though. you would have some pretty bad valve damage i would think because non vtec cant rev as high because valve clearance isnt high enough.

check your fuel filter, injectors and fuel pressure. hessitation is usually due to a fuel problem. good luck

im not quiet sure how everyone elses prelude works, but i have topped out my car at 135 mph. on the autobahn its every car for itself. maybe you are rite though about teh fuel problem. i did buy the car used and i have had it only 4 or 5 months. maybe its time for a fuel filter change. the spark plugs are new though, the injectors SHOULD be ok, but maybe they arent. all i know is that if i have a governed lude, then i got lucky with a very fast goverened lude. anyway, ill check teh filter and hopefully see if thats my problem.
