I have a feeling that I'm gonna get flamed for this thread.

I'm plannig(dreaming) on built B18C1 turbo and I'm scared to see how much it will cost me. But no way in hell I can afford $50,000 ~ $60,000 for my little D16Y8 econo car.

well , you can easily spend upto 15k on motor.. drivetrain maybe another 2 -3 gs if you go custom gearing , theres infinite amounts on chasis tho..its very easy to, plus factor in labor!!

I dont beleive that is cost 80k to build the car w/ car included but if it did i would never tell anyone thats what i spent on it if it was slow as that car. i didnt read the article but i was told it ran 13.2 and the editors were ragging on how slow it was and how much was spent etc...

Not only did this guy not do any of his own work, but he paid some one to do the research for all the parts as well. That's the only way I can figure it.

Ya I have the issue. That car looks pretty dope but 13.2? Is he not boosting enought? I was wondering why they didn't say how much power it put down or what it runs.

well the fact that he has gone through 6 motors since he started the car tend to rack up the money. the dude has no idea what he is doin and that car runs a lot of boost. all he does is brag. I have talked to him before and he is an idiot. that car went 13.2 on the bottle and turbo. I have heard on slicks he went 12.25@128mph though but he still is an idiot for blowing up 6 built motors. the fact that his duty cycle is probably maxed is probably why he blows up some much 550cc and 380whp don't go well together

I don't mind people who don't do their own work. As long as you know what's going on your car and WHY, it's all good. But if this guy actually paid someone to do the research, that's pretty sad. He probably doesn't even know what half the **** on his car does.

with the above setup, i don't think he's spent any more than $10,000-$14,000 on the car...

anybody who spends more on a FWD car is just an idiot IMO...

No wonder he's blown 6 motors heres the problem right here........

-Skunk2 ECU and OBD1 conversion harness
-HKS F-CON
-APEXi VAFC
-APEXi AVCR
He needs to get a standalone and get some real tuning. That car has the potential to make a shitload of power if he knew what he was doing.

I don't mind those people either, since I am one because I don't know as much about cars as the people I surround myself with. By the way, I was just kidding, that is the only way I could even think to spend $80,000 on that car.

When I read he spent that much and saw his mods, I couldn't figure how he did it. Maybe there are solid gold parts we can't see.
