this is on my 90 rs....
key would not turn back to the position to remove it...
so i left it there....so it was in the accessory position for a day or two
it ran my battery dead...and i just replaced it.....GRRRR

so do u think a little lube in the ignition will help the key out?
and if i charge up this new battery...do u think it will hold a charge?
i dont wanna buy another...i just spend $50 on this one!!!

any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

i don't think you had to buy a new battery...just jump the old one.

you can buy graphite to shoot into the key switch...but I wouldn't do that.

instead, try moving the steering wheel as you work the key.

 

i replaced the battery previous to this incident
when it got cold around here it just slowly died

yea...did move the steering wheel...it wast the wheel bein locked

i could physically feel the key mechanism not functioning properly...
like it was cold and jammed up...just wouldnt slide

well on the plus side if u just replaced ur battery it should be under warranty so u get replaced 4 free

 

I think he was sayin if your new battery dies again this soon, the next one will be free. If the key gets stuck again, I'd say disconnect the battery.

do most batteries have the date on it....
i dont think i still have the receipt...i'll have to look tho
but i can return it huh???
