Long Island Valve Adjustment Day
LIVAD - Long Island Valve Adjustment Day
Anyone interested? We could just get a couple of us together somewhere and it would be an excuse to check out each others rides and do the valves at the same time. Its cold, so you can hear your valves ticking, and if we plan accordingly, we shouldn't have to wait too long to open the motors and get to work. I personally know how to do it, but have never done it. Perhaps someone with more experience could lead the charge, but by the end of the day, hopefully EVERYONE would know how.
Thoughts?

I personally wouldn't do it unless it's before the car has been driven that day, or if it's been driven, wait at least 4-5 hours before doing the adjustment. It is critical that the head temperature be below 100 deg. F, otherwise you will adjust the valves WAY too loose and then you will REALLY hear some clicking.
yeah, i knew that it was imperitive to do it on a cold motor, but i just figured if we park them outside, a few hours in this NE deep freeze and a few playstation/mag reads later, and we are set...but maybe you guys are right...too hard to plan.
oh well
