Default b16 vs d16

i have an 89 crx hf i was talking to some guys that have already built b16's and other bigger engines and most of them are going back to their stock engines my friends say to go b16 but the other guys say to go d16si and build that. Personally I want something that would grasp peoples attention. In your opinion what would catch your attention best????

you are local to us.... I used to street race in Paradise Valley once in a while... but anyways...
It all depends on your budget. we can do a dope azz d16 that can do 12's on your HF daily driven. b16's are kool too but i'd rather go with an LS vtec since it has more tq.

hey Jalop,

I like to visit the boards that accept good and honest advice that I am willing to give. I like honda-tech since I know I can share my knowledge to others that are learning and to gain knowledge as well. I didnt see that at RSR.com. I just saw the same people bragging and talking trash all the time.
I dont know if you remember, the Quest Incident a year ago... that was all over RSR. It was dumb cuz I hate people talking smack and cant back their **** up. I came out and raced my single cam CRX against their B16 H/B. got that fool 2-3 cars on 1st gear. and they didnt pay up. i let it go.. but i hear they are still talking trash even though they lost. oh well whatever...
hehe anyways, i'll see whats up on RSR again...

a FAT turbo-ed d16 non-vtec with a nice USABLE powerband would catch my attention the most...i should have spent my money rebuilding my stock si motor for turbo. just know what your ultimate goals are, whether you want daily driven, street/strip/track, track monster, or whatever. you really don't need a stage 5 clutch or anything extreme like that on your daily driver. not to say that you absolutely can't do it; i just prefer to not have to do mini-burnouts everytime i'm moving along in traffic. its a comfort thing i guess
