Basically, I had a big Hype R meet at my house and my American Express Card, Debit Card and Digital Camera were stolen. The theifs racked up around 300.00 worth of stuff from gas stations to a liquor store to the grocery store. Thank goodness my bank called me or it could have been much worse.

So I had to file a police report...


I was given a business card with the sheriff's office number and was told it was going to be assigned to a detective and they would contact me if they needed any additional information. After 3 weeks of not hearing anything, I called and got the name of the detective that it was assigned to. After leaving a few messages, he finally called me back and stated, "You will not be able to access any of the survellience tapes. It will be up to the vendors to go after the guy because they are the ones that are going to eat the losses." I left it at that and hung up. All the fruadulent charges were written off by my bank and American Express which is awesome. I received a new debit card in the mail as well as a new American Express card as well.

Now the "good part".

Friday night, I had put around $250.00 - $300.00 worth of kegs, liquor, a beer tap (50.00 deposit), car bomb stuff, etc... on my American Express card. I guess when they wrote off the fraudelent charges on my account, they closed my account completely and wrote off everything. That means that all of the liquor, beer, tap and chit I had actually bought Friday night was all written off as well. After my new American Express card was received, I went back and returned the tap and got that 50.00 back as well, so basically I got $300.00 worth of free liquor & beer and a free $50.00 for returning a tap that was charged to my old credit card account. Pretty cool, eh?

I'm still out a digital camera, but hey, it could be worse right? Mad props to those of you who keep calling me wondering what the outcome was... Much for you.

Glad to hear the outcome. So you don't wanna know who the little ***** that stole from you are? What if you have another event at your place and they come back. You wouldn't even know who it was. Hell, they're probably reading this right now.
