how can you tell the difference between ball bearing and non-bb turbos?

Default how can you tell the difference between ball bearing and non-bb turbos?

how can you tell the difference between ball bearing and non-bb turbos?
i have a Drag 3 t3/t4 ball bearing, and i'm trying to see, if there is any
way to tell the difference between non ball bearings and ball bearings one.
and how much would you think its worth?

they usually spin more freely.

You can definitely tell from spinning the shaft. Friend of mine had a big apexi bb turbo on his rx7 and that sucker spun forever even just by hand.

I was told that you can look into the turbo where the oil return is and shine a light in there. You can see the bearing shining on a turbonetics ball bearing turbo.

most turbos spin while idling. people have told me in the past that their turbo was stationary during idle, and i can't help but think that is an indication of a problem.

LIKE TOP NOTCH SAID.. you flip the turbo to the oil drain. if you see a silver ball looking circle you will see it shine about 1/8 inch round. otherwise all you see is a shaft and metal casting

ya, if the turbine doesnt spin during idle, there is definately a problem
