Default Jiffy Lube's Honda price

Anyone notice how it's $0.50 more for a Honda oil change than a "car or truck." What's up with that? The clueless employee's had no idea.

well my guess would be becuase where the oil filter is located and how oil gets all over everything when you take it off, maybe they charge a 50 cent wiping off fee haha i dunno. Every other car i've owned never had the filter located like that. But thats just my 2 cents.

Nissan KA24DE and SR20DE have the same thing with the dripping oil.
Toyota 3S-HFE, 7A-FE, 4A-FE, and many others have the filter conveniently located underneath the exhaust manifold, so you have dripping oil and a burnt arm.

Two things.
1. Time = money.
2. Never said I did.

ironically, no oil poured on me the last time i took my filter off. i was astounded.

you know what freaks me out? manufacturers that put the filter down near the pan or almost on the ground. i changed the oil filter in a friend's ford once and it was tucked up behind an underbody panel about 6" from the bumper. you know, so when get in any sort of accident and hit a curb, it tears the filter off of its hub and all your oil sprays out. good plan, ford.

not necessarily......could have been just checking up on prices or general knowledge/shop characteristics

could be knowledge for the future, maybe his schedule is getting busier, but is just checking prices/quality of work for now.....considering it.

I may be sorry I even made this reply, but after this I'm laughing this off. it doesn't mean that much to me. I can understand wanting to know, but ya really don't have to force a confession out of him. I'm done. just making discussions, all in theory, of course.

in reply to the original question, I think these people nailed it on the head. Also, there is that crush washer that is supposed to be replaced every change, according to honda. Maybe they're just trying to follow that.

You get half a confession. Yes I had my oil changed there, but it was not a Honda.
