I have a 99 Si motor in a 99 EK hatch and i have the stock air box. I was just wondering what intake you guys are running, and if they really helped out. The reason that i want to know all this is due to the fact that lastnight i got my *** handed to me by an Si, never happened before. Oh well thats life. thanks.

do you know what the si had? he could of possible had cams, a B18C1 block, etc.etc...
On to your intake question...
do you still have the resonator part on? the carbon kevlar spoon one and a k&n drop in is more than enough airflow or you can get a AEM one like everybody else.

The Si had intake, header, and exhuast, thats it. Would maybe cutting a little of the box off on the bottom help out on flow. So that kevlar arm help that much?

just get an aem short ram stick it into your b16a box and use a K&N drop in filter thats the best combo ive used so far aem cai sucks compared to it imo

Remove the section that is behind the bumper, IMO, that is the most efficient/least noisy/best/cost effective intake solution.

sounds like a good idea... buy the mandrel bend your self or a generic intake.

if you end up taking out your resonator you can use the piping to make a cold air extension arm for your stock airbox, it will fit in the hole in the bottom of the box, just like it was designed to, and it will look/function like the comptech icebox. i just picked up an itr box that has this and it looks like it will work nice, i havnt had time to instal it yet though.
