Default Anyone with an SMS exhaust...

I'm interested in purchasing an exhaust system from Dave...and was hoping there was someone with the same setup. Would anyone happen to have full sms 2.5'' exhaust, test pipe, 22 in resonator? How loud is it? The reason I'm considering going with no cat is because the carsound I have now crapped out after 7-8months.

Thanks guys.

I use a big cam so its a tad loud for me.
with a cat it would sound more normal i think.
on a stock car it sounds almost stock.

Sgt,

My setup is pretty stock:
- b18c1 motor
- injen cai
- jg modded header (2.5'' collector)
- Hondata tuned with open header

Past setups have been:

-2.5'' crushbent piping, 2.5'' carsound, straight thru thermal muffler: This setup was quite loud. Thermal muffler I'm sure had to do with it...and I didn't have a resonator.

-Right now, I'm using an exhaust cutout that I uncap for racing. I had the muffler shop put the quietest muffler they had...and actually the 2.5'' piping tapers down to probably 2'' or less then the muffler...it does not perform well. But when it's uncapped...it screams.

However, performance with the cutout closed is frustrating. My first intentions were to kill the noise...but performance is horrible with the setup...not to mention the rattling cat now.

Do you think if I ran no cat, the 22'' resonator, magnaflow muffler that it'd be loud under 4K rpm?

Friends in the country have borrowed my ITR for their daily driver while their other cars are in the shop for extended periods, and I have to say that as I watch it drive off I am still surprised how quiet the exhaust is for a car that puts down decent dyno power.

Here's my write up. Take a look. Pictures, dyno charts, videos, etc... Should answer some of your concerns.
