i got a stupid question, ok i complete and udderly forgot how to adjust the valves on my sohc vtec motor, i dont know when it is at TDC i havent done it is so long but all i need to know is how to find that out and the clearences on a y8 cause it is tapping pretty bad so if anyone knows let me know thanks

TDC is when cyl 1 is at TDC on the compression stroke

all marks should line up and cyl 1 @tdc and dizzy rotor at 1

for valve adjustment

start on cyl 1 @TDC
adjust intake lash to .007-.009
adjust exhaust lash to .009-.011

turn crank counterclock wise till you hit TDC on cyl 3
samd valve adjustment start with intake then exhaust

then do cyl 4

then do cyl 2

process complete!

to find the TDC of each cyl remove spark plugs and stick something long down there and watch it as you turn the crank (chopstick works nicely _
