Default Swap checklist - am i ready?

Okay guys, i think im ready to do my swap into my EG DX. Here's what i got

1.b16a2 engine + tranny
2. P28 ECU
3. ITR engine mounts
4. ITR 32mm Axles + intermediate shaft
5. ITR shift linkages
6. Gonna use my DX engine harness and swap over the injectors, distributor, and alternator to OBD1. Apart from vtec wires, do i need to add anything else?

So guys, am i ready or wat? Anything else i should know of before i pull my old engine out. Don't really want to have my car off the road whilst searching for missing parts and pieces.

Comments welcome

Well i'll be chipping the p28 to b16a program...no worries bout that one

wats wrong with non-vtec harness? Ive searched and read that all i need to do is add the missing wires for vtec.

You don't need ITR parts specifically, any 94-01 Integra parts will work.

Are those injectors big enough? Wait a minute did you say dx because a dx state side is single port FI. I am confused gummi. LOL

ALL 92-95 Civic's are MPFI. You must be thinking of the DPFI 88-91 DX.

There is nothing wrong with using a nonVTEC harness. Since you are using a chipped P28, you will only need to add wires for the VTEC solenoid and VTEC pressure switch. It your car is a 92 you could use a 92-95 Si or EX engine harness to make the swap completely plug and play with no wiring. ALL 92 models are prewired for VTEC on the cabin side of the harness so by using a VTEC engine harness it wil eliminate that part of the wiring.

or the 6th gen Cx, Dx, or Lx

6th gen hatches are also MPFI and use 4 injectors. They have an vertical mounted throttle body like the DPFI 88-91 models but that's the only similarity there.

Thanx for the comments guys

I got the ITR parts for free actually...good friend of mine donated them to me . Got a jdm p73 ECU as well, but no one in australia wants to buy it off me.

As for my EG, its a 93, so unfortunately im not pre-wired for vtec.

My engine now is a d15b7. Read somewhere that injectors are the same size (240)...so will there be an issue putting my DX ones onto the b16a2? I see this as my only option if im to use my EG OBD1 engine harness since the b16a2 has OBD2 injectors.

ok im a litte confused.. first off.. i did my roomates swap.. he setup was as follows

complete 96 obd2 usdm spec b18c1
93 civic obd1 chasis
95 obd1 p72 ecu

we pluged the ecu in, swapped the motors and everything was good to go.. we didnt rewire anything for the injectors or distrubtor.. did we do it the "illegal" way i guess cause the motor was obd2 but we converted it to obd1 buy using an obd1 ecu??? good thing were not in cali or we would be in a **** load of trouble..

What engine harness did u use?

My engine never came with a harness, and even if it did, it would've been useless coz it came from an EK. EGs need a 2-piece harness, whereas for the EK its a 1-piece.

That's because you kept all the OBD2 components and had a full OBD2 engine harness. The 96-01 Integra uses a 2 piece harness like the 92-95 Civic. You can put a complete OBD2 motor using an OBD2 Integra harness in a 92-95 Civic and only need to use an OBD1 ECU. But if you have a 99-00 Civic Si motor, the harness is useless since it's a 1 piece design. You could buy an OBD2 Integra harness and run the motor with everything it came with, or buy OBD1 parts and use the stock harness.
