if you want 14's you can do it with a B16A swap. other great choices are B18c1. if you got $$$ JDM b18c or our b18c5

The B16A2 runs a lot better than the B16A1 so I would go with that. check out http://www.jdmhondaparts.com

I believe the difference is around 10hp. Different cams perhaps? B16a1s are far cheaper than B16a2s, though usually more work/parts are required to utilize the older b16 in a hybrid. Since either should be carefully inspected/rebuilt prior to use, I personally have no problems going with a b16a1 for a hybrid.

gsr gets my vote. i mean its not to high of performance compared to the type r. and it has more torque than b16. n it has that extra .2 liters.

is it a 's' or 'si'? if its an si and the engine is in good shape i would say just go with boosting it.

if the compression on ur sohc is good and u take good care of it, basic greddy kit will run you around 1500 and u should be able to break into the 14s with some tuning. if you add a few more parts to prep for more boost, i'd say for ~2000 you can get into the mid/low 14s.

get a B16B..... if you got the cash for it.... if you dont know thats a jdm ctr engine.... i have one sitting at my pad about to make itself into the del boost..... and for the B20.... i only recomend if its not your everyday driver.... its never messed up on me... but i dont trust it..... if the engine wasn't built like that... there must be a reason..... if you are going full track.... try a lsvtec or crvtec.... your going to spend alot more than getting a gsr or a b16..... you get what you paid for....

umm... actually they all pretty much run the same. all b16aX's are motors that came in cars here (del sol vtec, 99-00 civic si) and they have only 160hp at the crank.

please do not say b16a1 to represent a JDM Civic SiR1 b16a and b16a2 to represent an SiR2 motor, because there is no number trailing the engine code "b16a" on those motors coming from Japan. The main difference between an SiR1 b16a and SiR2 b16a is that the SiR2 motor has a higher compression ratio and therefore 10 more hp at the crank (160 vs 170hp).

not a huge difference, and I hate to be picky but this whole "b16a1, b16a2" crap is pissing me off.

there is a difference in the cams on the newer motors..
and a few other minor things i beleive!!!!!!
best swap for the money is B16 FOR SURE... best bang for the buck..
but..i think you should opt for the b18c1
